So here's my set up. Home network with AEBS, Apple TV custom synced with my iMac, so I stream my iTunes content from the iMac rather than copy it over to the Apple TV. I also use the Remote app on my iPhone. I used to have no problems using this set up before, however now my Remote app doesn't seem to see my library. If I want to play a podcast or movie from my iMac's iTunes, I can't find that media on my iPhone. However, if I start playing the podcast or movie using the white Apple remote, my iPhone sees something that is "Now Playing" and I can pause, fast forward, and rewind with the phone. So the iPhone does see the Apple TV, it just cannot find the media on its own.

Any ideas?

I'm not real familiar with iMacs so I apologize. Also, I'm not sure what you've done thus far to troubleshoot your problem so I'll give you some starting point suggestions. Your iPhone must be on the same network as the computer running iTunes. Remote software does not work over Edge or 3G. Make certain that your iTunes is actually looking for the Remote by checking "Look for iPhone & iPod Remotes" checkbox in iTunes. If you’re using an OS firewall, you’ll want to make sure that iTunes is an allowed exception. Or, in the case of 3rd party or hardware firewalls, specific ports must be opened up. DHCP may have changed the IP address of your machine running iTunes causing router configuration problems.

Everything is on the same network. I can view/access my iMac iTunes library with my iPhone, but not my Apple TV.

eatntae, I've got the exact same problem myself. I reset my Apple TV to factory settings yesterday and chose custom sync. I was then able to browse my entire music library via Apple TV on my iPhone Remote app. But today nothing shows up in the Remote app. I only get the message that there are no songs and that I can download songs in iTunes.

I do get to browse my library on the Apple TV though, but not on my iPhone.

I have done some music import in iTunes during these days and updated my Apple TV with the sync button regularly.

I know they recently updated the iPhone Remote. Can that have something to do w/ it?
