I have searched and have only dug up a few threads from a couple of years ago/months and have no relevant answer. Does apple TV now support iTunes U, if so to what extent? OOB no conversions? Separate category etc. Direct Streaming from iTunes? The reason I ask is the apple store kind of beat around the bush when I asked and I noticed a separate menu for it.

I haven't checked on myy ATV2, but on my ATV1 under Music > Playlists, there is an iTunes U playlist. I did not create this, it was automatic.

Hope this helps.

After you set up Home Sharing on the ATV2, a completely separate menu item for your iTunes U content from your iTunes Library shows up under the Computers menu just like it does for music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, etc.

Thanks for that information. Are you able to search and add new content APTV side or must it be done from the computer with itunes?

Anyone able to check this for me? Can't get to bestbuy today or the apple store because of all the snow. Will order on amazon though if someone can get me an answer. Thanks again.

It's iTunes based. You make the subscriptions and changes within iTunes and it is reflected on the Apple TV. You can't adjust iTunes U subscriptions from the Apple TV itself other than to mark them as watched or unwatched.

Got ya, thank you. So I take it apple has fixed itunes u from not showing properly. I guess it used to be that they didn't have their own category they showed up under movies, podcast etc.
