Apple TV jail brake question

My TV is BROADCAST only.

Thought to purchase a 2nd gen. ATV & jail brake - IF - this would allow accessing occasional sports programs (i.e. NBC Sports Network and ESPN 2) w/o having additional equipment and a subscription.

Am guessing - NO - as I would need some way to pick up the signal?
