Apple TV keeps freezing and rebooting with TV Shows ripped with Handbrake

Hi!

I have a couple of TV shows that I ripped from the DVDs i own using Handbrake. Once it is done, I will use MetaX to tag the episodes etc. However I noticed that every time I play any of the TV shows, it keeps freezing and rebooting itself. This does not happen with movies.

I am wondering if anyone else experinces the same problems and have found a workaround.

the strange thing is watching it on my Mac Pro or on my MacBook Air using Frontrow has no problems. It is only with Apple TV. Weird.

How are you encoding them? Chances are you are playing around with the settings and something is getting screwed up.

I would head over to handbrake's forum and post a bug (MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE A LOG!) and see what happens.

Actually I had that issue once with some eyetv HD encodes I did that were screwed up as far the source, for some reason the resulting file out of HandBrake would cause the atv to reboot right at the screwed up source (which was caused by a bad usb connection from the eyetv and HB couldn't grok the source) Never did figure out why it would reboot though. Never happened again so I don't know that its a very common issue. At least I have never seen it mentioned on the HB forums. Seems to be a *very* isolated incident.
