Apple TV movie purchase to imac.

Is their a way i can transfer my movies that were bought on the apple tv to my imac? I am asking because the hard drive on the apple tv is starting to fill up. I see that some of the movies are their on my itunes and some are not.

I just want to be able to get the movies off of my apple tv to free up some hard drive space but i dont want to loose them movie. Will i be able to re download those movies that were purchased from the apple tv?

Or am i just screwed since i did not download them from my imac and stream them to the apple tv?

Hmmm....any movies Ive purchased via the old atv automatically made its way onto my serving iMac. Did you have your iMac off when purchasing via the atv? I'd give apple a call re this.

Yea. Doing it for a friend, and was trying to figure out, i read somewhere that you can share purchased movies between the 2, under a movies tab within i tunes and apple tv tab but their is no movie tab

When you have purchased a movie on your AppleTV the next step is to open iTunes on the iMac and perform a sync. That has always copied the movie to my iMac anyway.

Have you synced that ATV to more than one Mac? Or have you reformated your iMac? If so, syncing might erase and lose your purchased content.

No reformat, umm i would think its synced if it already shows up in itunes.

I just want to be able to get the movies off of my apple tv to free up some hard drive space but i don't want to loose them.So it will be better if I can download on my hard drive.
