It would be cool if a future Apple TV could have the Web Cam built-in or at least upgraded using the USB port for iChat. I would love to sit in my living room and use iChat with the TV as the medium. You can even have a split screen to watch a TV show or movie with family or friends across the world.

This would be a killer App for Apple TV to make it more mainstream for Apple. Any thoughts?

I think it should also make coffee. It would be a killer app to be able to sit in the living room, and drink freshly made coffee from my apple tv without having to go to the kitchen.

A wireless iSight would be nice; it could connect to ACDs and AppleTV :)

Built in though...where?

It does run hot enough to serve as a coffee warmer, however. And I think you could pop corn on it. ;)

X360 + Live Camera = Better.

If the other person has a 360...most people don't...while a lot of mac users' family members (well more anyway) have either an AppleTV or Mac that they could chat with...

I know more people that have a 360 than those that have a Mac and use iChat/AIM.

Also, I doubt Apple would implement iChat into a media streaming device; it just doesn't make sense. Just because we're seeing built-in iSight cameras in the entry level computers and the MacBook Pro doesn't mean every Apple device will have one.

So yes, although it's nice to dream, it'll never happen.

EDIT: The 360 uses Microsoft's .NET services, AKA. MSN. This means whoever you're video chatting to can access a conversation through MSN Messenger (barring the Mac version) thus, rendering the need for both parties to have a 360 obsolete.

Time warp... whoa, we are seeing built in cameras in every apple device.

Never say never. Well, almost never.
