My Apple TV is set to auto update but as of April 3 is still on 14.3. Anyone else have this issue?

Probably needs a reboot, but why not just update manually as tvOS 14.4 was released back in January.

I did that, but the whole point of the auto update is so that I don’t have to wonder if I am up to date. I never would have known if I wasn’t looking at something else.

I have auto updates off but it still get a pop up when I turn it on asking if I wish to download and install now.

So, now that you have manually updated it... is the device any better than it was before? Really, most of these updates are innocuous for the most part. The real changes come with a hardware refresh.

I have the same issue but not on all devices. I have three Apple TV all the same generation and spec. All set to auto update. Two of them do one doesn't. As and when I have time I am going through other settings to see if there are any differences between the devices. If I figure it out I will let you know.

My AppleTV 4K 2022 was still stuck on 16.6, and it kept reporting that there were “no new updates”! 🤯

I did a Reset and Update twice, and it reported that the update failed each time. So I did a Reset first, and then it correctly saw that 18.1 was available.

To think that I spent nearly two years with old software while believing that auto-updating was working! 🙄
