Apple TV not in iTunes devices list

I know this has been an oft-complained issue with the TV, but I'm worried because this is happening with iTunes 8. I've rebooted the iMac multiple time, the TV multiple times, and I'm at my wit's end. I can get trailers through the TV, I just can't see it in my devices list.

Thanks for the reply. I figured it out by un-syncing and re-syncing it.

My MB Air and Itunes8.0

I cant see it in devices either and Ive tried syncing and resyncing. I can get the AppleTv on the net but my MacBook Air wont see it.
