I have my apple tv set to custom sync cuz I stream most of my content including podcasts. The problem with this is that my new podcasts don't sync automatically. I have to click sync in iTunes to be able to watch the newest episodes. Does anyone know how to set the apple tv to sync ever so often when using the custom sync setting? Thanks.

I've noticed the same thing. Thanks for the tip about itunes. I'd been rebooting the Apple TV! I noticed that in Apple TV the name of my synching machine was wrong (same name as another mac that I use for occasional streaming). But I guess this has nothing to do with this problem.

I noticed that response is much faster for "My Movies" than "Shared Movies" to produce a list etc, so the ATV must be caching all of the song/movie/podcast titles. How to get it to refresh that cache? Maybe it does it every 24 hours (etc). I suppose if itunes stops and starts regularly, it will kick of a resynch to the ATV, but mine is open all the time, and the machine is never off.

I wonder if you select some items to sync instead of streaming 100%, whether that will kick of a full re-synch of ALL lists
