I'm seeing info that says the older :apple:TV is affected, and I'd interpret this to mean either:
  • iphoto 11 will get a bug fix update very soon
  • :apple:TV (antique edition) is going to get one more update soon

Since I have 2 of the antiques, I hope it's the latter, as maybe it will push out anything else that was worked on prior to :apple:TVjr

what is affected? mine is seemingly working fine with the new iphoto.

The original Apple TV is compatible with iPhoto '11. Some people reported that they did have to unsync and then sync their photo library again though.

I find this a bit odd, doesn't the syncing to :apple:tv come via iTunes anyway. How does this have anything to do with iPhoto?

Also am I missing something and there are multiple versions of the old style :apple:tv and it's the very first edition that not compatiple... and not the one you could buy a few months back.....

Nope, they're the same. Only difference is there is a 40GB version and a 160GB version. iPhoto syncing is managed through iTunes so I don't find this odd at all. And did you read the thread at all? iPhoto '11 is compatible with all versions of the Apple TV.

iPhoto 11 works just fine with my original :apple:TV. Apple has not made any comments of incompatibility, it's just a few folks who are having isolated problems.
