The power on/off button on my Siri remote is depressed below the surface of the remote and I can’t get to to pop up. It looks like disassembling the remote is a 19 step process. Any other tricks to fixing this?

Don't know if this workaround will help, but after reading reports of this issue with the remote power button, I proactively stopped using the button, using the home button to turn it on, and a long press on the home button to bring up the onscreen menu to power down.

I would try 99% isopropyl alcohol flooded around it. It's safe for electronics to the point that you can use it to clean flux off a PCB
You've probably got muck under it. Sticky fingers I'm afraid- we've done it too.
That's your best bet

They make remote covers that cover the power button. I've been using one for a while and have yet to have this issue (or the power button just falling out). I think it helps prevent anything from getting inside the button that causes this issue. I really hope Apple will actually address this in the next Apple TV as the power button is major weak point in the remote.

It seems redundant to have added a dedicated power button to this generation of remote, but I guess they wanted it to be more intuitive for new ATV users.

It's one click power off. It isn't redundant, it is just more useful and efficient. Not having a power button would be insane. But Apple could just fix the issue. We are 3 generations in and they still haven't fixed the remote.

Lots of previous gen owners might disagree, but at least if/when your power button fails you now know you can turn off the ATV with an extra click.

I mean the touchpad remote may go down as one of the worst TV remotes of all time.

CharlesShaw I’m embarrassed to admit it but I didn’t know the Home button could be used to power on/off the tv and Apple tv. Problem solved. Thanks a bunch. The remote looks so ugly with the power button sunken in that I might need to get an eye patch for it.

“Siri, turn off the TV”

One of the very few things Siri gets right for me.
Oh my goodness, it pays to read MR. How it has never occurred to me to ask Siri to do this is beyond me, so thanks! And of course Siri knows about the TV because it's my HomeKit hub. Duh.

You can also tell Siri to pause the Apple TV. Now… here’s where Siri gets realllllly stupid. Say I tell it to pause while watching a video stream. Pauses just fine. Tell it to resume playback? It will randomly start streaming Apple Music. 🤦‍♂️
