I don't know if this question has been asked before but with the Apple TV can i sync movies to it. So can I put my movies on there so when I go to college I don't have to carry all of my dvds with me, all I have to carry is the box. If the question is not clear I can try to make it clearer. Thanks

And if this does not do that do you know any products that can?

you can rip your movies to a compatible format, and put them in itunes on your laptop, you would then have access to them on the appletv

My friend has the office seasons 1-6 and i took the first disc of season 1 to put it on my computer and it was going to take an hour so i decided it wasnt worth it. i might do it this weekend though.

it will take time, you can copy multiple disks to your hard drive (it will take a bit of time, but not as long as encoding), and then set up an encode queue, and let it run all night.
depending on the processor in your machine and what else you are doing and what quality you are going to, it can take as long as the show is to do the encode (or longer).

check out the following programs.
mac the ripper
handbrake

disclaimer -- you should only do this to make a backup (or a usable copy) of your own disks, and not copy material from your friend's collections.
