Apple TV Question

If I were to buy an apple tv, I know that it does have an HDMI port.. but can I use HDMI To VGA/DVI or HDMI TO composite and still use airplay?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought a hdmi to composite converter. Works perfectly fine.

The converter was 40 bucks or so. Not all TVs and projectors are HDMI compatible though.

This is the one that I purchased, it has a s video out and composite.

It's good for work. We have a lot of 37-42" tvs but do not have a HDMI.

HDMI has been on virtually everything for several years now. If you are thinking about purchasing a new AppleTV - it would be an AppleTV 2 - which already has HDMI. HDMI conversion is so 5 years ago ... plus conversion means loss of features (HDMI carries audio and control signals) and, if converting to anything other than component, a loss in resolution.
