Apple tv remote on macbook

can i use an apple tv remote on my 12" rMB? 3rd Or 4th gen? What software is necessary? All i want to do is control movies in quicktime. I airplay movies to my apple tv alot. But using the remote when paired to the apple tv doesnt rewind or anything.

No, this is not possible as far as I know

I cant use remote from Dock Universal with Macbook 12 then I guess remote from Apple TV same. It cannot work

Can't use the remote that way, but if you drag the movie into iTunes and enable iTunes Home Sharing then you can play the movie from the "Computers" icon on the Apple TV, and remote functions will work that way
