I plan on setting up my Apple TV this weekend but before I do, I have a quick questions.

Currently my router is in the living room and my iMac is connected through wireless. This leaves me with an open ethernet port on my iMac.

Instead of running my Apple TV via wireless, can I just connect a cross-over cable between my iMac and the Apple TV?

There is an option to "Share an internet connection" in OS X. But I never tried it.
Probably easier to go wireless.

I would go completely wireless but my wireless network is only Wireless G.

Would Wireless G be sufficient for this? I want to have as smooth of a playback as possible. Thanks

I have a Wireless G network and the ATV plays fine. The only time it hiccups on me is if I fast forward. If you can live with that then G is fine.
