i just got a new tv from samsung, its a full hd 1080p tv. However when watching tv shows and movies rented on the apple tv, it shows 1024x768, and many of the picture settings is greyed out, its kinda weird, cause two days ago, it wasnt like that.

I have tried several hdmi cables, because i though maybe there was something wrong with the one i used, no difference.

Anyone got a idea why this is happening

The new aTV only outputs 720p. Since you've ruled out the HDMI cables ... try the following.

1. Connect the aTV to another HDMI port and see if the Sammy correctly identifies it as 720p.

2. Connect another device and set it to 720p to see if you get the 1024x768. Some HD cable boxes allow you to set the output resolution ... or if you have the box set at native, tune to a known 720p channel.

3. Reboot the aTV by unplugging it from the power.
