i can not get my apple tv to sync with my itunes. anytime i try to get it to get a large portion of stuff it times out or has an error or stops or something. this is a dumb question but can i sync quicker than wireless?

yes, use an ethernet connection either via the network or directly to the mac containing your itunes library.

Looks like you are not getting a good network ipaddress for you AppleTV. Do you have a router? Is the AppleTV connected to the Router? If so, can you AppleTV access the internet applications (like Movie Trailers). If that all works well then your AppleTv should be able to talk to the MAC. If still having problems go into the settings on the AppleTV looking for the Network. Do you have a ipaddress. Usually it would be something like 192.168.1.nnn.

What size is your library? Are you going from Windows or Mac to AppleTV?

If at all possible hard wire. Others have done the wifi thing(with great success) but I have seen more syncing problems in this and other forums. Especially if the library is rather large.
