Apple TV Turning monitor off...

Hey guys,

Got an ATV2 and trying to connect it to an ASUS LCD Monitor (I'm using a DVI to HDMI converter + HDMI Cable). Monitor turns on fine but when I connect my apple TV, it just shuts the power off to the monitor and it won't turn back on until I turn the Apple TV off. I've tried turning things off and on in different orders and nothing seems to work. Seems really strange and any help would be appreciated....

I had a TV before that didn't have a HDMI slot on it. I bought a DVI to HDMI cable and it still didn't work. I had to use my ATV2 on another TV, and I bought a new TV for the living room (wanted an update anyway).
