Apple TV Upgrades - Does anyone do them in the UK

I have read the tutorials etc, and also read the nightmares...

I love my Apple TV and its the one gadget my wife would kill me if I lost......

I have seen that there are now 500gb HDD's that should fit the Apple TV and wondered if anyone in the UK (I am in Maidstone) would upgrade mine for which I would be happy to pay for this service.

You've seen 500GB 2.5" PATA drives? No. You've seen 500GB 2.5" SATA drives.

I upgrade them in the UK but 250gb is your limit at the moment, unless you want to add an external drive but this involves cutting holes in the back of the apple tv to get a cable out.

Uh... why not just enable USB disk use if you have to have an external drive?

It's not necessary to damage the ATV's enclosure. It just depends on how you do the mod.

Because every time an ATV update is issued, it breaks the USB hard drive connection.

Thats because ATV upgrades don't affect iPhones.

If the connection is broken is it easy enough to get your stuff back to your mac?
