Hi Guys,

As the only visualiser we have for the Apple TV is the CD Art, I thought it would be interesting how many think we need one for the Apple TV, especially with the new iTunes 8 Visualiser. It would be pretty cool to have the new visualiser on my screen whilst I'm having a party...

Who else thinks so... Who else want the visualisers on the Apple TV!!!

why bother???

as my apple tv is connected to my Music system to stream audio, i have the TV turned off most of the time, once an album is selected.

therefore whats the point of the visualiser?????

I've never really seen the point of visualizers. They seem a little juvenile to me actually, unless you're holding a rave in your apartment. If I'm having a dinner party or even a birthday party at my place I'd rather have the somewhat static and less distracting CD Art on the screen (if I'm going to have the TV on at all) so guests can maybe see what's playing if it's something they've never heard and like and yet it's not so garish that it's distracting visually.

therefore whats the point of the visualiser?????

are you stupid?! This looks like a case of "because I wouldn't use a feature it should never EVER be implemented and is 100% pointless because *I* the only person in the world who matters doesn't need it"

Open your mind to other people's (and potentially your future) experiences and how they use their systems. I 100% agree that a visualizer would be a great addition to the atv.

that is your opinion..... I take offense at your tone. the thread was ASKING THE QUESTION of whether it would be useful. i think you are short sighted in saying that because you think it is a great addition, IT IS A GREAT ADDITION!!

to be honest a few dancing lines on the screen, ummmm how interesting, i would rather not damage my screen, Music is primarily to be listened to......

Yeah, I think a visualizer, especially the iTunes 8 version, would be a nice option. I like to watch it, and I think it would be much better than the existing album art display. For those that don't care for it, or think it might, uh, "damage their screen"(?!?), they could always choose not to use it. Must be easier or more fun just to be negative though.

I'd be up for alternative options on the visuals. I tend to have music playing, flick around a bit, maybe check out some youtube, then back to music, wander off and when I return the Screensaver is running (which is pretty nice).

So I do require the screensaver. Options would be good. Not necessarily the iTunes 8 Visualiser, just more options at least. My CD art is limited and the Flickr options are whack, just one folder.

I never seem to get invites to all these 'iTunes parties' I'm forever reading/hearing about when people talk about iTunes/:apple:TV. Next time someone's having one of these uber iTunes get togethers, spare a thought for coogee, alone with Youtube again wondering about this secret world of Shuffled Video Playlists and shmick hosts clutching Apple Remotes.:rolleyes:
