I currently have a PS3 networked with my Mac via MediaLink. It works pretty well, though the interface is a bit clunky. For my birthday I was given an Apple TV. I'm considering returning it as most of my media-in-the-living-room needs are met by the PS3 and MediaLink. Is there a compelling reason to add the Apple TV (which I'd hack with Boxee) to my home theater setup?

Need to know what the ATV could be useful to you for?

If you use iTunes then the ATV is great. I have a PS3 and an ATV and they compliment each other. The movie rentals are great.

Unless you're tied into the iTunes ecosystem (purchased content, etc), you might not need the Apple TV.

Additionally, if you have a Windows PC (or fast Mac with Parallels/VM Ware) there's a program called PlayOn that adds Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Unbox, CBS, CNN, among others to your PS3.
