Hi all,

Is this suppose to update or is 4.4.1 the same as 4.4 and just covered some issue others were having? My ATV says it's up to date.

The 4.4.1 update has been pulled by Apple because of it having a high tenancy of forcing users to restore via iTunes. It only contains bug fixes, no new features over 4.4.

I couldn't eve get it to update to 4.4 from 4.3. I had to hook it up to my iMac. Apple needs to get their heads out of their butts after the death of Steve Jobs. This is how pathetic this company has become. I select the artist and select shuffle and it says "No content was found" but if I select individual songs from that very same artist, it plays. Steve died and so did this company.

Update Through iTunes

I read this in another thread and it worked for me:

Unplug AppleTV from power and HDMI. Plug it into your computer with only micro usb cable connected. iTunes will detect it.

Click on the Restore button on the main tab.

iTunes will download 4.4.1 from the net and install it on the ATV. After it finishes, plug the Apple TV back into your tv and you're good to go.

Shouldn't have to use a micro usb cable, but at least it works. Luckily I had one that came with my phone.

Considering that Apple pulled the 4.4.1 upgrade from the net, why would you install it anyway? The moment is hosed your ATV, you would be first in line blaming Apple for releasing a crap upgrade...
