Apple tv - works w/pc as well as Mac?

Thinking of purchasing imac 21.5" - also looking at hp touchscreen 23" (oh pls) Would like to know if Apple tv works with either type. Thanks.

No offense intended (well, maybe a little); why would you ever even consider a touchsmart?

and yes, you can stream media stored on either of these computers to the new TV

No offense taken (not even a little). I figured the HP touchsmart would generate that sort of comment - that's why I indicated (oh, pls) in advance of an answer. While I am really leaning toward the iMac, that particular HP has received good reviews, both from users & press, so I took a closer look at it. Don't think I like the touching screen idea to navigate - I would probably end up using the mouse most of the time anyway so no point in getting that particular model, but it would appear to be THE way to go with a lot of manufacturers, including Apple. I appreciate your answer regarding using the Apple TV device in both worlds, pc & Mac. Thanks very much.
