I have an extra $100 burning a hole in my pocket from the holidays, is Apple TV any good? Did they increase the content at all since release?

Best $100 gadget I bought in a long time. Airplay has added some more functionality since release. All in all it's a sweet little machine. It just works!

Yeah, I'm going to pick one up on Wednesday.

The biggest problem I have is figuring out the best settings to convert a bunch of my files to use on Apple TV.

I've read that .mp4 and .m4v are basically the same thing, and I'm using HandBrake to convert my video files, and that only offers .mp4. I'm still searching for the best settings to use on that so I get the best quailty possible.

720p is all i've ever needed. 1080p is overrated in my eyes. Never saw a difference to be honest. When I checked out TV's the 720p ones were good enough and much cheaper.

Yeah, my panasonic plasma doesn't support 1080p so that's not a problem for me.

Whenever I get a new TV, probably not for a few years because mine is only a few years old, Apple TV will support 1080p or whatever is out there then.
