Hi,

i seem to have encountered a minor issue with my Apple TV 2 and jailbreaking it.

the device is seemingly Jailbrokjen as i can SSH onto it. however...

when it boots up it shows the apple log then stops sending a signal to the TV. the remote seems to work as the light flashes on the unit when i use the remote. Also it reboots itself every so often.

I can SSH onto the unit and as I look right now the following processes are running:

Apple-TV:~ root# ps -A
PID TTY TIME CMD
1 ?? 0:00.67 /sbin/punchd
2 ?? 0:00.00 (kern_sploit)
16 ?? 0:00.07 /usr/sbin/ntpd -n -g -c /private/etc/ntp-restrict.conf
17 ?? 0:00.00 /bin/bash /usr/libexec/cydia/startup
20 ?? 0:01.69 /usr/sbin/syslogd -bsd_out 1
24 ?? 0:01.56 /usr/libexec/lockdownd
26 ?? 0:00.49 /usr/sbin/mediaserverd
27 ?? 0:00.14 /usr/sbin/mDNSResponder -launchd
28 ?? 0:00.37 /usr/libexec/locationd
29 ?? 0:00.14 /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/IMCore.framework/ima
31 ?? 0:00.09 /usr/sbin/fairplayd.K66
32 ?? 0:00.78 /usr/libexec/configd
33 ?? 0:00.02 /usr/libexec/airtunesd -launchd
37 ?? 0:00.23 /usr/sbin/BTServer
38 ?? 0:00.40 /usr/sbin/notifyd
39 ?? 0:00.52 /bin/bash /usr/libexec/cydia/firmware.sh
49 ?? 0:00.05 /usr/libexec/hidmonitord
54 ?? 0:00.00 /bin/bash /usr/libexec/cydia/firmware.sh
55 ?? 0:00.02 gssc
67 ?? 0:00.22 /usr/sbin/sshd -i
99 ?? 0:00.60 /System/Library/CoreServices/ReportCrash
69 ttys000 0:00.03 -sh
100 ttys000 0:00.02 ps -A

I was wondering if it is possible to get the device back to a Factory condition (ideally with a firmware i can jailbreak it again from) so that I can start afresh it would be much apprciated.

Many thanks

J.

i finally figurted this out.

took a clean install of win& and a clean install of Itunes to register the device and so i could restore it with Apple firmware.

just trying to get an older firmware to install and re jailbreak it now.
