Apple - UK prices now cheaper than USA

After years of hearing complaints of how Apple products are so much more expensive in the UK, thanks to the rapidly falling Pound they are now actually cheaper than in the USA.

New aluminium MacBook 2.0 - $1299 in the USA, £949 in the UK which equals $1268 without VAT.

New MacBook Pro 2.4 - $1999 in the USA, £1399 in the UK which is $1869 without VAT.

MacBook Air 1.86 - $2499 in the USA, £1799 in the UK which is $2404 without the tax.

So at this present time, we are ripping off Apple for a change.

I think Apple anticipated the $ slump and jacked the prices up for the newly released macbooks and macbook pro's anyway to cover it regardless.

For example.. in feb 2007 I paid £1249 from my base level Macbook pro. Now the base model is £1399. And the base macbook is now a staggering £949 for the new range. I think the old range base model was only £799.

Thats quite a hike.Yes, the technology is better, but over time you expect better technology to cost the same if not less. Well every other manufacturer does.

So Apple is still ripping us off either way !

I demand that Apple raise prices in the UK so that we in the US don't feel ripped off!

and those are price points which (along with the new nanos and the white macbook) have been adjusted upward.

the other older products have not had their prices raised and so apple are taking quite a hit on the exchange rate
