iPod Apple Universal Dock Power Source?

Evening all, i was just wondering if anyone knows if you can connect a iPod charger like this...

to the universal Apple iPod Dock. I don't have room for the current USB power adaptor, and my previous FireWire chargers don't work with my nano, as my new laptop DOESN'T have FireWire i sync it through USB.

Not that it bothers me.

That's a good one, I guess it would work. But I'm not sure.

I've just been having trouble lately with my Logic3 iPod dock because the new nano doesn't support it.

My old FireWire charger doesn't work either and i wouldn't of thought it would of mattered really as its just a power source.
