Apple updating iPhones during battery replacement

Just something to be aware of, especially if you have a 6s or 6s+.

Apparently, the diagnostics that Apple uses during battery replacement requires your device to be running on iOS 10.3 or newer. So, if you're device is on iOS 9 and it's jailbroken, you are going to lose your jailbreak.

I took advantage of the $29 battery replacement in mid September for my 6s running 10.2, and I specifically asked if they needed to update the IOS. Was told it wasn’t necessary and proceeded with the replacement.

Right, but now their diag software requires a minimum of 10.3. So, if you're on a lower version (such as iOS 9.0.2 for me) you're going to get updated and lose your jailbreak.
