Hello again all, this is my first post in a while, and I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place or re-posting a thread someone has already started. Anyways, I follow various tech websites and blogs and this Apple vs Samsung thing which has been going on since last year (literally!) is driving me insane! Is it just me or does this just seem like a petty and futile argument between the two?! Of course, huge amounts of money are being talked about with the iPhone, iPad, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy S phones, etc., but it just seems to me that both Apple and Samsung are just wasting their time firing petty futile arguments at each other in vain attempts to hurt each other in some way! Can't they see this is going nowhere?! And what surprises me most of all is that while they are suing each other, Samsung are supplying parts, (including actually manufacturing Apple's custom A4s and 5s!) to Cupertino! What do you think about this? Share away folks! (And Happy New Year! :D)

One of the problems is that most blogs and tech sites must love the page hits as many, many people chime in with their opinions on the matter.

I've noticed that some of the most active posts and articles are on the whole Samsung vs Apple stories. As long as they remain such a hot subject, the posts will keep coming.

I enjoy reading the discussion that comes with the Samsung Vs Apple stuff myself and being someone that has been into mobiles/smartphones all of my adult life, I find it facinating watching these two giants slug it out. :)

I once saw a infograph of 100s of different companies with interwoven lines crossed everywhere. It was a graph depicting the different legal status between companies.

I can safely assure you that it is NOT just a 'Apple vs. Samsung' thing. It's more like Apple vs. Samsung vs. Microsoft vs. Google vs. Yahoo! vs. HP vs. Dell vs. Sony vs. Asus vs. etc.

My point -- Passionate fanboys with nothing else better to do other then glorify Apple and bash Samsung really shouldn't be caring all that much regarding the legal tangles of these monster companies.

I wouldn't even begin to pretend to know all of the ins and outs and legal ramifications involved. I certainly don't have enough details to truly have an informed opinion about any of it, and I certainly wouldn't get the real story from any tech blog.

Most opinions are just an over simplification by consumers
In other words... blah, blah, blah... they all have too much money... blah, blah, blah... give me what I want, when I want it

Without protecting their products... well, there wouldn't be any products

So because you're tired of the Apple vs. Samsung, you spawn a topic complaining about Apple vs. Samsung, thus sparking more conversation about Apple vs. Samsung.

No, I agree with you, it's old and needs to die already, i'm just saying....;)

I don't follow and I don't care.

Two billion dollar corporations duking it out, why get upset over something that we have zero control over. I'd rather focus on things that directly affect the well being of my family.

Litigation is not something I had much experience of until lately, having been a law abiding citizen all my life etc. But it seems to me from recent events in my life that there is only really ever one winner when the cheque books come out.

Maybe it should drive you more crazy that Samsung is copying Apple since day 1. Why can't they innovate more like Logitech?
