I have a few credit cards loaded into my Apple wallet however mostly I use American Express. Tuesday, October 29 I got gas at a local station, just under $50. The Apple wallet shows $175. I assume that is credit limit up to for Theft issues.
However it never reconciled to the actual American Express $47.09 is that normal or should it reconcile later?
I’m just in the habit of checking my spending daily to make sure that fraud doesn’t happen and it just sort of struck me as weird.

The $175 isn’t actually a charge, but rather a “hold” to ensure you have enough credit to cover the gas purchase. With my AMEX card, my local station places a $200 hold on my card, which eventually falls off and the actual charge that pumped into my car will show up. So you should see the $175 fall off after a couple days or so.

Ok, I’ve concluded that Apple wallet does not sync to Amex for gas charges.
Like mentioned the $175 is pre-approval for max amount, not actual.
2 different stations.

The below is Apple wallet screen shot, it never syncs.
Amex immediately after is correct price.

Ok, I’ve concluded that Apple wallet does not sync to Amex for gas charges.

Actually, pretty much everything, not just gas.

For example, I have some restaurant charges that are in Wallet with the pre-tip number.

Per Apple, it's up to the card issuer re what will be displayed.

Some transactions might look different than the final charge. Depending on your bank or card issuer, you might see only initial authorization amounts, or you might see different transaction amounts from locations such as restaurants, gas stations, hotels, and rental car companies.

And per AMEX, Wallet is not official, need to access AMEX website or app for "official" info.

Apple Pay will only include your last 10 purchases. Please note that some of the listed transactions may be pending charges, which are temporary and are subject to change (for instance, pre-authorizations at restaurants and hotels). For all official statement information, please refer to your Card account information either on americanexpress.com or in the American Express App.

Yea thing is I’ve got 3 different credit card in Apple wallet, based on where I go. Was hoping for a 1-stop place for auditing usage .. guess that’s not possible … meh
