When I plugged in my iPad, i got a message i had not gotten before rerquesting to send my info to apple. I know they do think with their other devices but appears they are wanting my low memory logs... Which i get quite often.

If you would like to help them solve your problem, send it. If you are worried about privacy or something, don't send it.

I am pretty sure they are trying to find out if you are an incognito satirist.

just send it. They're hardly going to mess around with your info! They have it all when you buy the machine anyway. And plus, products and OS will never get better unless users submit these kind of things.

I wanted to make a Post bout this.. Do you Beta test for apple?

When I first synced my ipad it asked me if I wanted to send the Critical Information on my iPad to apple. I said no. I ain't your damn beta tester.

Agreed. I'm not paying all this cash to do legwork for Apple.

You guys literally have to do nothing and expose nothing of value to help potentially improve a product you spent good money on.

That is the epitome of stupid.

WTF? You guys have no idea what telemetry is?

The information being sent to Apple does not just benefit them, it benefits every iPad owners including you guys. There's no reasons not to send them the logs. You already sent Apple all your private information when you bought the iPad with your CC. The telemetry does not contain any additional private information, it won't be sending address book or any of that sort. It just sends Apple the performance statistics, crash logs and any logs that's related to the device.

The data mining from those telemetry will help Apple find bugs and optimize the OS. By seeing how iPad works in the hands of 500K or more users, Apple can see which tasks are being too slow, buggy, and so on. They'll use those information to fix and optimize the OS for the next software release.

This is something that Apple can't do on its own. Your comments about beta-testing are ridiculous. No products on this planet or even in the universe are perfect. Everybody is a beta tester and it has nothing to do with Apple, it's nature itself. Evolution is a beta test as well.

What exactly are you asking? I am not sure what the point of this thread is?

Every application and every company wants and needs those information to improve their products. It does not contain private information, just basic telemetry logs.

Then you have no room to complain about the device. Ever.

Bad logic. You have no room to complain about anything which telemetry could have fixed, but wasn't because that single individual turned off sending back data.

Just send the data. Its just crash logs and other such things that can help Apple fix bugs int he iPad. Don't be an idiot... JUST SEND IT.
