I believe you have now voided your warranty. Installing memory in the Mini itself voids your warranty, but the fact that you have damaged the clips now gives evidence to Apple that you have been inside the machine.

No, if you make any damage to Mac Mini after installed the RAM then your warranty would be no good but you can still use Apple Care for phone call support only, not covered for repair.

If you don't make any damage after installed RAM then you are still under warranty.

Um. Opening up the mini does not void the warranty, nor does installing memory void the warranty.

But damaging the clips possibly has voided it. Thats something that should be addressed by Apple support though as they are the only ones that can clarify if the warranty is voided because of the damage.

Yup, that right.

If damage then void the warranty.

If no damage then still under warranty.

That's what I got info after called Apple.

Damn, i installed the ram with no problems then the airport antenna popped out of place.I had to reopen the mini thats when the clip broke.Oh well anyone wanna buy a mini with one less clamp?lol

You might be able to repair it but it will cost you. Apple still makes repair when you're not cover by warranty, it will just cost ya.

But one thing (sorry if I'm hijacking your thread), after he pays for the repair and get his mini back. (if he does pay). Will he be covered by Applecare (assuming he bought it) after, now that the mini is fixed and perfectly normal?

No need to apologize.I wonder if apple does make repairs like that and how much.I'ts not a big deal but i wonder.

Well my repair for my Power Mac (G4, I didn't pay) costed me around 120-700$.

My gigabit internet chipset fried because the heatsink fell off (don't ask lol) and when they checked it, it wouldn't start up so they tested the power supply...

It seems that the power supply had died and as for the chipset, we couldn't find out until we had a replacement PSU. Power Supply was around 120$ and the PSU + Logic Board replacement (we couldn't replace the chipset) was around 500-700$

Good luck, just take it to the Apple Store.
