I’m trying to get my Series 9 to activate and start being aware of sleep disturbances that may be related to sleep apnea. I follow the directions posted here - https://support.apple.com/guide/watch/receive-sleep-apnea-notifications-apd4e7713562/watchos. The following - Set Up below Sleep Apnea Notifications under the third step - isn’t giving me an option for it to be engaged.

I have Apple Watch S-9 and Watch OS 11 both loaded up. Any ideas what might be happening here? Thanks in advance.

What OS version do you have on your phone? AFAIK it only works on 18.0, not on 18.1 at the moment...

Ah, thank you! Where did you find this bit of information?

I am running 18.1 (DB 4), and at least now I know why it’s not working. Thank you

I'm on latest 18.0 / 11.0 and not seeing an option for Sleep Apnea detection in Health Checklist either. Has this actually been confirmed to be available?

The only evidence I see of this feature online is for Series 10 watch reviews, but I assume they have a special build to have it enabled. I imagine since it was just approved for Apple we need one more software rev to enable it.
I turned it on .. in the health app, click on browse in the bottom right and search for sleep apnea, you should see n option to turn sleep apnea notifications on

While I do see it in the health app, I see nothing that actually turns the feature on/off. Just some articles about what it is and an option to pin/unpin a Breathing Disturbances pane from summary. It has generated no data.

I'm also not seeing it at all in the Health Checklist to turn on/off as described in the linked article. I feel like I'm missing something really crucial.

EDIT: I went to Apple's actual article to set it up, and there simply is no Set Up Notifications under Breathing Disturbances or the Sleep section. I feel like I'm losing my freaking mind here. It doesn't show I'm still on beta builds. Perhaps it's region locked as I'm currently vacationing in Mexico?

Is anyone aware of a video actually showing how to set this up?

You’re on beta? Not sure it’ll work with beta.
I’m on the official release, no beta

I was on beta but now it's showing I'm on the full release on both watch and iOS. But I didn't get the option to actually upgrade to the full release on either. I turned off beta updates, restarted both phone/watch, and it's showing full builds on both. This is unbelievably convoluted.

Yes, as I stated see this. But I have no option to actually turn the feature on/off. EDIT: sorry, the thing I'm missing is the Sleep Apnea Notifications at the bottom. Thanks for sharing that so I can see that this is in fact broken.

My iOS version is showing as 18.0 (22A3354).

Are you now saying you have the option toggled on but aren’t getting any notifications? If so, it is my understanding that it takes close to two weeks before you would get a notification for a possible problem. The app has to build a data file first.

If that is not what you are saying, I suggest you install the official release on the phone and watch.

No, check out the screen shot I edited in. The toggle at the bottom of my screen is simply not there.

Which Apple Watch do you have?

Series 9. Here's a collection of my screens, with the Breathing Disturbances pulled up to prove it's not available.

BTW, as mentioned earlier I'm currently traveling in Mexico, which this feature is not listed as being available. Both my phone/watch were purchased in US though.

Possibly I'm not seeing this feature available due to location tracking and it will pop up once I return to the US in 9 days? Otherwise unsure what to do aside from reinstalling 18 on my iPhone, maybe the feature was juked as I transitioned from the beta program.

Just bumping this to report this popped up once returning to the US from Mexico, despite using a US purchased Apple Watch with a US based account and using VPN into the US while in Mexico. It seems they hard track the location of the watch w/ GPS before allowing activation.
