With the launch of the Series 6 on the horizon, quite a few more people will be upgrading to an Apple Watch with an always on display. One of the things that I have realized since getting my Series 5 is that, since the watch face is now always visible, it is more important to pick a watch face that pairs with the watch band you are currently wearing. I thought it might be nice for us to have a place to share band and watch face combinations. I have a few “preferred” faces for each band I own. But, I am always on the lookout for new ideas and I suspect others are as well!

Posting guidelines
  1. Posts must have a picture that clearly shows both the watch face and the watch band in a single image. Can be either a camera shot of your physical watch or a photoshopped picture using a screenshot and Apple’s hero band picture.
  2. Must include the name of the band and the watch face
  3. Include as many details about the watch face as possible (e.g. watch face color, complications, etc.). This keeps people from having to ask questions about your post.

I’ll start us off!

  • Band: Space Black Link Bracelet
  • Watch Casing: Space Black Stainless Steel
  • Watch Face: Solar Graph
    • Complications
      • Top: Date
      • Bottom: Carrot Weather
  • Comments: I love the minimalist look of the solar graph face combined with the metal of the link bracelet. It’s not the most traditional combo. But, I think this give the watch the most “futuristic” look of just about any combination.

  • Band: Space Black Link Bracelet
  • Watch Casing: Space Black Stainless Steel
  • Watch Face: Meridian
    • Dial Color: Black
    • Color: Royal Blue
    • Complications
      • Top: Digital Time
      • Right: Waterminder
      • Bottom: Date
      • Left: Carrot Weather
  • Comments: If I am wearing the SBLB and want something that looks more like a traditional watch, I usually go for the Meridian face. Depending on the occasion, I may turn off some of the complications for a more minimalist look.

  • Band: Alaskan Blue Sport Loop
  • Watch Casing: Space Black Stainless Steel
  • Watch Face: Solar Dial
    • Style: Digital
    • Complications
      • Top Left: Activity
      • Top Right: Waterminder
      • Bottom Left: Carrot Weather
      • Bottom Right: Carrot Weather
  • Comments: The solar dial face is straight up a work of art and I always felt that the light and dark blues of the face matched really nicely with the 2-toned blues of the band. Unfortunately, Apple really dialed up the saturation of the solar dial face in watchOS 7 and it’s not nearly as good of a match now. But, it is still a nice combo and the solar dial face also remains one of the prettiest when the AOD dims.
