Anyone experiencing a drop in battery after updated to the latest watchOS? I usually charge my SSS3 right before I go to bed and use to watch up to less than a 5% drain. Recently I’ve seen over 10-15% drain in the morning. No changes to apps or anything.

This happened to me one day last week. My S1 AW was fully charged from the night before and I just so happened to check the battery life around 9:30AM because I was going to have an extremely long day at work and just wanted to see where my battery was... It was showing 68% battery life after only 4 hours of being on with very little activity.
I kind of freaked out and turned the watch off and let it stay off for about 10 minutes. Upon turning it back on, my battery showed 99% life and ended the day in the mid 60% range which is normal for me on days I don't work out.
The watch has been perfect since that time but that was the first time I had powered it off and on since updating to the most recent IOS.

My S1 Sport's battery has been horrible after the last update. Hoping a restart remedies it.

You can also try a re-pair. And sometimes besides just restarting your Apple Watch, you could hold down the digital crown and power button for 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo, which will hard reset the Apple Watch.

OK, so it's been two weeks I have own the AW3. This is what I noticed about battery drain.

  • Fully charged before I go to bed (1st week):
    • Wake up battery drained about 2-3% (using pillow app as well)
    • Make it rest of the day would have about 60-62% left.
    • Charge to 100% before bed, usually takes about 1-1.5 hours (tried to do this same time every night).
  • Charge before go to work (2nd week):
    • Charge before leave for work, make sure at 100%
    • About 4 hours later, checking time, notifications, etc, battery only shows 1% drain
    • After that, I see about 2-3% drain per hour
    • Go to bed with about 70% power remaining, wake up with about 60-62% (using pillow app) <- want to reconfirm these numbers).
Weird how the first 1% takes 4 hours to show up, then a constant 2-3% drain the rest of the day.

With all that said, I am happy with the battery life in this. If I can make it 24hrs between charges and still have plenty left, this exceeds what I thought I would get based on Apples own numbers.

Mine has also started to do random drops in battery out of the blue. Usually I get by on a single charge once every two days. Now, by 5ish on the second day I am at the 15% mark which is usually used to be at 34-37%

Normal day with my S3 I take it off the charger in the morning and have about 60% remaining when I go to bed. It's happened a couple times now where the battery drains for no reason and I'll notice it at ~10% at midday. Interestingly resetting the watch did not stop the drain (it would just continue draining after resetting), but resetting my iPhone did. Still not sure what triggers it, but it's annoying since I don't typically carry the charger for my Watch with me.
