Just curious if this is happening to anyone else or if it's somehow unique to my situation, but basically ever since installing the iOS beta, I've noticed my Series 4 Apple Watch has had terrible battery life — I used to be able to go from about 10:00 p.m. one day to 8:00 p.m. the next day on a charge, usually with about 20% remaining, but now I'll get the 10% "low battery" warning as early as, in today's case, 3:00 in the afternoon.

Is anyone else experiencing suddenly bad battery life on their Apple Watch when running the iOS beta on the iPhone it's synced to? Or is it just me?

Try rebooting both devices. Maybe the iPhone or Apple Watch are just sending a lot of extra 'garbage' data back and forth and stuck in a weird cycle.

Does it have a cellular plan? Maybe it's just losing its iPhone connection and reverting to cellular, eating away at the battery.

It might be unrelated. It also might not actually be a change, since OS updates often recalibrate batteries to refresh the actual, real-world battery life. (i.e. Your watch might have actually shut off at 9% previously because it was actually at 0%, but now 0=0 again.) It could be a bluetooth stack issue, which I had lots of problems with beta 1, but no issues with 2 or 3. If so, they will probably straighten it out in a month or so. It's not watchOS 11 beta, because your series 4 can't run it, so no software issues on the watch itself I imagine.

Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.
Tap Battery, then tap Battery Health.
If it's under 80%, time for a new battery.

I actually just got the watch's battery replaced earlier this year, though it does say the battery health is already down at 93%. Probably couldn't hurt to do a reboot on both devices though!

I unpaired and set up as a new watch and made a drastic improvement, OS11 still worse than OS10 but gets thru the day now.
I never use the watch on a lower version than the phone, both on beta.
