Hello Everyone,

I had originally planned on ordering the Apple Watch Nike+ Series 2 Watch or picking one up in the store when they became available in October but something inside me told me to get the Series 2 as soon as I could so I happened to stumble upon one at my local Apple Store and I bit the bullet and actually purchased it. It's definitely a purchase I don't regret although I wish they had the Gold Aluminum instead of only having the Space Grey Aluminum but I'll get over it. Anyways, that's not the reason for this thread, I remember that when the Hermes Apple Watch came out, you had to purchase the watch in order to get a band for it but later on in the year the company decided to release the bands separately, do you think Apple will do the same with the Nike Series and either release the bands separately at a later date or maybe even release the bands when the Watch comes out? Do you think Nike Stores will carry the bands if this is the case?

I'm thinking the Apple Nike Watch bands will be exclusive to the Nike Watch. It's a completely separate Watch. I doubt the Nike bands will be sold separately. If they are, it would take away from the specific look to the Nike Watch.

I obviously missed this. Hats completely different about it? Thought it was just the same watches packaged with different bands.

I'm sure a 3rd party will sell the same kind of bands on Amazon soon or after the Nike comes out. I'm waiting till than.

Basically the Nike Watch is exclusive to Nike with perforated Watch bands. Similar to what the Apple Watch is to Hermes.

I thought you meant the device itself was different. They're just aluminum watches packaged with a unique band, correct?

That's correct. I believe it also has a Nike based application on board for running. The KeyNote also contributed a significant portion to this. Personally, it's hideous and I would rather invest in the Series 2 aluminum, even though I am a Stainless owner.

I think the app is available for download anyway. I don't know that I'd rule out the possibility of separate band sales either, particularly since it has happened before.

Anyway thought I missed something regarding the watch faces and all that. I don't love the look either but the extra air flow during a heavy sweat might be a bonus. I think I look ridiculous running as is lol.

I typically weight lift, but I do like to sprint sometimes. I like think I'm somewhat fast and my wife says 'Why are you running so slow.' Gee. Thanks a lot. I guess all the weight lifting makes me heavier with muscle.

Agreed with the perforated bands for air flow. The flueroastamer bands restrict your wrists from any air flow.

IIRC, the Nike Apple Watch has a couple exclusive watch faces (like Hermes), and the Nike running club app has a permanent complication on all the Watch faces.

I wanted the ventilated band, too but I knew I would never use the Nike Watch faces or the NRC app, so I got the "regular" series 2 and will wait for the inevitable 3rd party ventilated bands to show up on Amazon.

I really love that band. I saw it in person and it thought it was pretty much hotness. I'm just torn because I have a series 1 watch now (OG Version) in the space gray aluminum.

I thought of just going YOLO and getting the Ceramic.

I'm sure in the keynote that the Nike watch has the Nike name and logo engraved on the underside, not saying this means it's any different to a standard Series 2 but that's the only thing I'd noticed.

It will have NIKE logo.

You sure about it being on all the faces and not just the Nike-exclusive face designs?

No, not entirely sure. I seem to remember reading something about the Nike Apple Watch having a permanent NRC complication. When I was deciding on which Series 2 to pre-order, that bit of info was one of the things that turned me off to the Nike Apple Watch and on to the SG Series 2...that and the fact that NAW wouldn't be available until October.

I was leaning towards the NAW for the perforated band, but I know there will be aftermarket version available shortly. Loving the Series 2, BTW...nice improvement over the Gen 1. The display is MUCH easier to read in sunlight.

Me too. I thought it was fugly when I saw it during the presentation, but when I saw it in person I almost wanted to buy the watch for the band alone :)

I was reading info on Nike's page regarding the watch, and found this tidbit:

• Nike Sport Bands are available exclusively with Apple Watch Nike+ models and not sold separately.

http://news.nike.com/news/apple-watch-nike
Which is silly to me because Hermès sells their bands separately (and that is supposed to be more exclusive) and we all know there will be nike knockoff bands all over ebay/amazon in a months time anyways. You would think that apple and nike would rather make money on selling these separately and the real kicker is the nike watch doesn't cost any more than the regular aluminum watches anyways. I was planning on upgrading to a stainless steel series 2 eventually and wouldn't mind having a nike band but I guess I'll have to give my money to some 3rd party for a fake.

I think after a month or so that the NAW is available, you'll be able to buy the Nike bands separately.
Apple are in the business of selling stuff. I also think that they will sell the Nike custom watch faces.

Tie will tell I guess. So hoping for a Volt Nike band for my black SS Black Series 2.

I've seen this, but it doesn't make sense. I have the space gray NAW w black/gray band, which I love. I might want to get the black/volt band for variety, but beyond this, the bands aren't designed to last "forever". What if my band gets damaged? Or just wear n tear. Doesn't make sense to say: sorry, you can't buy a replacement Nike band. Maybe a future policy would be: only Nike Watch owners can buy a Nike band, and maybe they'll limit the number you can purchase..? Pure speculation.

Maybe you will have to bring in your Watch to prove that it is a NIKE + Watch, then they will spell you different NIKE+ Bands.

So lets say you are a NAW owner. and 6 months down the road your band is worn. Does the apple employee go to the back and take the band off a new watch? what happens to the actual watch? lots of questions ...
