Problem is basically the thread title.

Apple Watch no longer unlocks notes after updating to Big Sur. Doesn't even show the watch symbol in the note anymore. Everything else works fine.

Just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this.

Update rebooted my iMac and it did not fix it

Rebooted the apple watch and it fixed the problem.

Anyone having issues try rebooting the watch or maybe computer then watch.

I've rebooted my apple watch and MacBook Pro but the computer still does not recognise the watch via bluetooth. Not sure what to do next

Just about tp post a thread about this also. I have tried rebooting and unchecking Apps unlock but still the same. Must be a bug.

EDIT: Just tried rebooting iMac and Apple Watch and still a no go.

Apple Watch is working for me on Big Sur. I upgraded from Catalina. I decided to change Apple ID’s not long ago, and wiped the drive over the weekend, did a clean install of Big Sur, and logged in with my new Apple ID and all is well.

Hello guys,
I had the same issue and it was fixed logging off Apple ID from Mac and then login again. Then enable Apple Watch at privacy setting.
This fix worked for me. I restarted after signing out just for good measure then logged back into iCloud.

It asked for my iPhone passcode. I was extremely nervous because the dialogue isn't clear to me if I'm going to lose data. It said it would delete the pictures on my Mac but they were still there after signing out. I have backups but still get nervous about this kind of stuff.

Works great on my 2015 MacBook Air, but a complete failure on my 2017 iMac. Not sure why this stuff doesn't "just work".

If you are having trouble getting apple watch to unlock anything signing in and out of your apple id worked for me.
