Interesting observation - I BELIEVE that is an Apple Watch 3 puck on the left, and the one on the right is the Apple Watch puck that came with my AW6.
Heh cool.
Heh cool.
Do they charge any differently?
Same behavior as far as I can tell. I’ll have to hook up the kill-a-watt to do more tests.
Comparing the Series 5 adapter (which I presume is the same as the Series 6) to my Series 0 adapter, the S5 one is thinner and it has a much, much shorter cable.
I think this size change dates from the introduction of the series 4, meaning the charging puck of series 4, 5 and 6 is the same size (smaller and with different grade of concavity to the series 3 and previous).Interesting observation - I BELIEVE that is an Apple Watch 3 puck on the left, and the one on the right is the Apple Watch puck that came with my AW6.

Wondering whether the new S6 puck is required for S6 fast charging or whether I could also buy an “older” 3rd-party or older-gen Apple charger for traveling.
I didn't realize there was faster charging. There's not much info about it but I found this
"Battery life is the same, quoted by Apple at 18 hours.
However, not mentioned at the event, but snuck into the press materials, was faster charging.
The Apple Watch will now charge in 1.5 hours. It's perhaps not quite as potent as some fast charging we've seen, but means you can recover a lot of battery life after waking up and before leaving the house."
Already sold ... :-/Why not test with the S4 puck you have on hand?
