Have had Apple Watch 2nd generation for less than 6 months and the other day the screen just comes off. Paid over $400 and Apple is saying it is 'accidental damage'. For that kind of money the watch should be able to withstand normal wear and tear. I use the watch when riding my bike and working out. That's what it's meant for. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE APPLE!

If the watch has damage due to your accidental damage, why should Apple be responsible for the repair cost?

The onus is on you to prove manufacture defect. Otherwise, you have to pay to get it fixed.

There was no accidental damage. I use the watch every day but it has not been dropped or otherwise damaged. For that kind of money the watch should be more durable.

If you haven't dropped the watch or banged it (once or repeatedly) into other various objects etc. you need to call Apple support and explain to them what is going on. I would also recommend you take pictures of the damage. It could be you have a bad battery that has started to swell and needs to be replaced. If you bought from Apple, it should still be under warranty.

Make a Genius appointment and have Apple inspect the Watch for a possible defect. Not every Apple product is perfect, it's the nature of mass produced tech items. Also, my advice is also to remain respectful to Apple, you're likely to have a better outcome. If it's something they determine with the Watch out of your control, they may issue you a refurbished Watch or repair your current one.

I had a screen pop off on my Series 0. It was due to battery swelling and Apple replaced it. Genius Bar appointment should take care of issue.

My brother's Series 3 (WiFi only version) had its screen pop off due to an expanding battery about a month after he bought it. Apple had him send the watch to them and they replaced it free of charge.
