Anyone have any info/speculation/hopes for the next Apple Watch SE? Planning on waiting for the next one to come out instead of buying the current SE.

Info I have so far:
  • Likely to release with Series 8 in September 2022
  • Pricing similar to current SE
Hopes:
  • Same price as current SE
  • Same chip as S8
  • Blood O2 sensor
  • Always on display
I know some of my hopes are a stretch, but that’s why they’re hopes, not info

Guys - about to buy the apple watch 7 but if features are comparable on SE2, I'd rather go with that. Anybody know if there's going to be any major difference between the two?

Thanks

my guess: release spring 2023 - they're putting the spotlight on the new "Pro" (or whatever it will be called), then the regular 8

I’m guessing you’re on the right track but I’d say:

- AOD
- blood O2
+ EKG

And current SE form factor (not S7)

This would be an immediate buy...hopefully they also keep space grey around.

Rumours had the silver colour returning for the regular 8, but no mention of space grey.

SE won’t get always on display. It’s the only “innovation” aside from the on screen keyboard that they try to push you into buying something more expensive. Really blatant and kind of sad, but a watch is a watch I guess, can’t expect too many other things out of it.

Speaking of the on screen keyboard , really off topic but , I want to vent.

I have a bunch of watches I swap out on the daily. For some reason, they all recently started begging me non stop to enter my Apple ID password. None of them is a series 7. My password is naturally long and has special characters and numbers.

It was almost impossible and migraine inducing to “scribble” my password into all of my watches multiple times.

My iPhone would never offer to “enter text” like it sometimes does, no matter how much I opened, closed, opened the Watch app. The little lock and key on the Watch would offer to auto fill passwords, but NOT my iCloud password.

This was the biggest F’ing headache I ever encountered with Apple products. Was it all an elaborate ploy for me to desire a watch with an on screen keyboard? Lol probably! But it did the opposite for me, made me want to throw every single watch in the toilet.

I eventually got them all entered and it’s all done for now. Until they decide I need to do it again for whatever random reason causes all of my watches to want my password again.

The experience made me wonder if the people who design these things ever even use them at all. So frustrating.
