Bought this watch about 8 weeks ago to measure distance when swimming in open water. However, this watch literally saved my life. I fell hard on Nov 13, but didn't even know and I staggered inside. My Apple Watch SE 3 called 911 and my two emergency contacts. I had gone inside and was surprised when EMTs showed up - I literally had blood dripping from head and face, but was unaware. My DIL (an emergency contact) immediately called me and noticed I has slurred speech, but she discovered 911 was already on the way. I went into ICU where I learned I had fallen, I had a brain bleed/concussion, facial fractures, a large hematoma, many bruises, lumps, bumps and scrapes. If my watch had not called 911, I would have stayed inside with a brain bleed until it was too late!!! I am trying to tell everyone to buy an Apple Watch if only for this feature.

Exact why I got the series 5 cellular watch. As you can see by my Avatar I ride a sports bike a little on the aggressive side. I normally carry my iPhone as well in my pants pocket. I figured if I ever went down and couldn't retrieve my phone, the watch would call. Fortunately I haven't gone down on this bike, but a couple of times on my old bike. I did slip an fall on slippery concrete at McDonalds one day and my watch notified me, caught it in time before it called.

I’m so relieved that the Apple Watch SE recognized the fall and prevented a brain bleed and stroke. I’m also happy to hear you’re doing well.

Did you receive any high heart rate notifications? And wow, i can’t believe the 🩸 was captured on the security cameras too!

I’ve enabled crash detection on my iPhone 15 Pro and fall detection on my Apple Watch, just in case I faint or slip and fall while working on the CNC machine. I’ve never had a hard fall before.
