The new 10 series still lacks the "banned" feature from two years past that Apple has supposedly just turned off.

I will await a resolution to this spat before buying a new Apple Watch lacking the feature. My Ultra v2 Watch has the feature so no need to buy a crippled new version.
I have the Ultra OG and even thought I dont currently see a reason to upgrade, especially since the disabling of the O2 sensor.

If the rumors about satellite connectivity next year come true, It would be a big consideration for me to upgrade.

However, it would be an instant No without the O2 functionality.

It's all relative but, being older, these all-time low prices do not feel low :).

Agreed totally

Their whole pricing strategy the last many years feels like a big scheme to “create” sales.

Retailers long ago figured out that you can just overprice things to begin with and put them on “sale” and it moves units better than pricing them lower to begin with.

People think they are scoring some bargain … when they aren’t

The mattress industry is horrendous on this point. Retailers routinely create these totally outrageous nonsense MSRP numbers so they can say things are “50% off!”

It should be completely illegal, and probably is, it just isn’t policed

I’m waiting for the 42 to hit $299. At that point, I’ll pull the trigger to replace my aging Series 5.

I've actually seen lower prices than these. 42mm was $299 and 46mm was $349.
I guess some prices exist outside of the boundaries of time as we understand it.

Prices so low that they defy the laws of our universe.

Or, it’s just retailers and their affiliates who don't care and will say whatever to get us to buy.

I believe the case has been settled. Apple is banned from using the technology until the patents expire in 2028. I think they’ll just either wait it out or develop a new sensor that doesn’t infringe on the patents.

Best Buy has it for the same price as Amazon. I just got a price match this morning.

AOD set to off and my Series 7 with battery healt at 76% last 24 hours. Miss AOD but Series 10 does’t have „i want it” factor. Maybe Ultra but I will wait for better upgrade in Ultra 3.

I have a Series 7 Green Aluminum model… Jet Black 10 would be a good upgrade… but no real rush as it’s not my main Apple Watch and it still had Apple Care for a while. I feel like you could get that model closer to $329 or even $299.

Whilst I realise that there is sales tax on top of this, it’s depressing that in the UK on Amazon the first of the watches listed is about $466, roughly 1/3 more and I am sure no sales tax is that high stateside, so at least 20% higher

Have a Series 10, it is a great watch. Paid full price for it as there is no discount for it in my country. These are good prices and look similar to Black Friday prices. Don't think further price reduction will be happening soon.

Award for the most boring product refresh 2024. Had a close look at the watches, but couldn’t spot any difference to my AW6.
Was looking for something like a more “grown up” design approach which a nice leather wristband (3rd party since Apple hates leather nowadays). But also the titanium versions all look the same. A more edgy design approach like with the ultra would have been nice for AW10.

I'm with you
I'm not interested at all until the physical shapes/designs get truly refreshed and hopefully expanded

I thought with a fully software interface we could have much more varied and interesting hardware design options and instead they just keep spitting out boring rectangles.

It's really frustrating for a watch, which is seen and considered by many as a fashion item in many contexts

It's like they need a "Watch Labs" line to do lower quantity runs of different form factors or something
