Hello everyone.

I got second hand apple watch series 7 45mm with black screen.

The watch is working, turn on green lights with the band is on my hand and i cam feel vibrating when i long press the crown and the button next to it.

I have tried hard reset by long pressing the crown and the button next many.
I did it many times but nothing happen.

I also bought new screen and replaced it, and no luck.
same problem

Anyone have any idea what i could be?

Thank.

Are you making sure to hold down the crown and side button for at least 10 seconds when you're doing the force restart?
Do you ever see the Apple logo when you try the force restart? Or is the screen black no matter what?

It sounds like the screen isn't receiving power or data, which would mean A) There are other faulty components in the watch or B) The screen replacement was performed incorrectly, or C) The replacement screen is faulty

Considering the screen was black when you got it, I would say it's likely that it's probably option A. Which would mean that the watch is probably not fixable

So the screen didn’t work when you got it? And then you replaced it yourself?
I’d say it’s toast.

Yes, im sure im holding it down for more than 10 seconds.
Never saw the apple logo. The screen is black no matter what.

the original screen is with a little bit with scratches but looks good and working.
But not working. The new screen also replaced correctly.
2 flex cables.
The person I bought from is a friend of mine, he told me that he didnt used it for a long time. Then wanted to charge it and it wanna turn it on, only vibration.

It's a S7, you could have had it checked out by Apple before trying to replace the screen yourself. They do service out of warranty devices for a fee, and having it checked to see if it's fixable is free. Now that you've tampered with it, Apple won't touch it.

I dont know what you're trying to say. The original screen was working, but the new screen is not?

No. Both are not working. Black screen but feeling vibration when I’m pressing side button and crown or long press on the side button.
Any idea what it can be?

What made you think it was a defective display in the first place?

There are many other components that can cause a blank screen.

Im not sure. Thats my first thought.

What components could be the cause?

You need to take out the logic board to measure and determine if any passive components are shorted. That would be the basic first step. It could also be as simple as a corroded display flex if the Watch has had any water intrusion.

If the display is blank and there is no physical damage to it, then it’s unlikely to be the display.
