Hi! I have Apple Watch 8 and as far as I know, it only can measure temperature of body for benefit of girls, which seek ovulation time.

Now that new AW10 can measure temperature of water, but can it tell temp. of body? Maybe with 3rd party app?

Maybe I’m wrong, but I think it also measures your wrist temperature when you’re a boy? Because it’s in the new vitals app?

Edit: I think it always could measure your wrist temperature, regardless of gender. Your sleep focus has to be enabled for it, I thought. Did you look in your health app and then under ‘all data’ in the wrist temperature section?

The watch takes your temperature whether you are male or female, but the information is only useful for predicting ovulation cycles in women. I think you have to enable sleep focus to get the watch to take your temperature, and it only does it once a day, when you turn off sleep focus. The resulting temperature data can be used to predict ovulation, but this isn't useful to, for example, check if you have a fever, because it only does it once a day. At least, that's how it behaved prior to watchOS 11, and I haven't heard that any of this changed in OS 11.

It’s the white app icon with the heart in the corner.

And you have to enable the ‘sleep focus’ for it to work. (The icon with the bed).

So it’s called ’wrist temperature’ not ‘body temperature’. Body temperature and basal temperature is what you can measure yourself and then you can add those results to the health app.

Wrist temperature is what your watch measures when you’re asleep and when you turn on the sleep focus.

Edit: You can also search for ‘wrist temperature’ in the search bar of your health app (the white icon with the heart).

I am surprised some guy has not complained that he is not getting the full data on his watch because he can’t ovulate!
