People are trying to get rid of these, lightly preowned, for well under $600 around me all the time

Too big/heavy I guess?

I will say, having played with it at an Apple Store, it's quite a chonker

Does anybody actually know anybody that has an Ultra that is a diver/hiker/mountain climber outdoors type person that uses the features that it has? Everybody that I know that has an Ultra watch is you average non active indoor type person.

I felt the same way. Kept going back to the Apple Store to try on and try to convince myself I needed one. I really like the flat face. But when the Series 10 came out, I decided to go with it. So glad I chose this over the ultra. Yea, it has to be charged 2x as often, but the charges take 20 minute max with the new fast charge.

On my S10, I'm usually down to 30% by around 8 pm after wearing 14+ hours with maybe 120 minutes of outdoor walk workout with GPS/Heart Rate tracking that drains the battery. I just plop it on the charger before I hop in the shower and it's at 100%.

It must be something with the extra sensors in the Series watches. My wife has a S9 45mm and she is usually down to 30% battery remaining by the time she goes to sleep, where as with my SE2 44mm I still have 70% battery left. I don't believe she doesn't uses her watch any harder than I use mine either.

The ultra 2 isn’t really that heavy for day to day use, and I would have kept it if the series 10 didn’t feel better to wear. I kept getting the ultra caught on the arm of my wetsuit (yeah I know, just take the watch off when you are changing), while the 10 slides more easily under the suit. I do miss the ultra modular face, seems ridiculous we can’t have it on the series 10 with the larger screen.

Would it be correct to assume that this model does have a blood oxygen sensor, but it's just disabled due to that stupid lawsuit? And that Apple can switch it on via a watchOS update when they eventually win the lawsuit?

Yes.

"Could" switch it on. Doesn't mean that they will.

lmao. I snowboard with mine with the Slopes app and its killer.

Quite a good reduction in price for Ultra 2. Don't think it will reduce further in the next 2 to 3 months. Should be a good time to buy one now.

Right. Though I'm sure some people are torn between getting the Ultra 2 (with S9) versus getting the regular Apple Watch with the newer CPU. I know it was one of the reasons I, for now, just stayed with my original Ultra.
