Apple Watch Wake

Does this feature work for anybody on a regular basis? Mine will work for a little while after a restart but then nothing.
Do you think it has something to do with the Screensaver being on?

So far mine has worked every time. A few times I have saw it wake and must not see my watch as the password screen comes on then maybe a second later it unlocks. Now I just use the simple password option on my new pro.
