I am lucky enough to be getting some exclusive hands on time with both of the new iPhones and the Apple Watch (iPhone thread here) so post your specific questions you want answered and I can do my absolute best to report back and answer all of them. Obviously I won't be able to say much about the battery life because I won't have it all day but I can ask my friend how it has been going for him. I'm giving you a heads up so ask away!

1. Why do they put company interests first (such as tying the watch to the iPhone for functionality), instead of user freedom, needs and enjoyment, re: GPS, ANT+ etc

2. Having a separate App for each new function would create a bloated and inefficient interface. Apple have a 'sports' model which should then have typical sports functionality as standard, which of the following features commonly found on older sports watches does the AppleWatch ship with?

Not sure what access the OP is getting but at this point I doubt there is much to see. I bet many of the Apps are not even in alpha yet. I bet most are just demos of what the Apps are most likely to look like. This is probably why NO ONE was allowed to play with all the Apps and have unlimited access at the event. Most probably weren't real Apps and even if they were they would crash if not done in an exact way.

I'd like to know more about the metal rings around the sapphire on the ceramic back.

We know one of them is a skin conductor to make it usable/unusable for payments.

Is one the others a temperature sensor?

Seeing as it charges with induction, I'm guessing the magnets for the charger are on the inside of the ceramic.

Why did they put metal around the sapphire!!

I really like the look of the WATCH Sport model, but would want a leather or metal strap for it. I presume it's possible, but I'm not sure.

Sizes are not interchangeable. If you get a 38mm Watch then you must use a 38mm band. However I think Apple stated all bands will be available in both sizes.

Sizes are not interchangeable. If you get a 38mm Watch then you must use a 38mm band. However I think Apple stated all bands will be available in both sizes.

I understand that, but on their site it only shows the modern buckle for 38mm, and the leather loop for 42mm. All others seem to come in both sizes.

Therefore if I get a 38mm, I'll go with the modern buckle, but otherwise I'll go with the link bracelet for the 42mm as I don't really like the leather loop.

Of course, the modern buckle may come in two sizes and just not shown on the website, but I doubt that.

But will AW also work with a TouchID iPad [iPad Air 2, say] for set-up,

Yea you won't be swimming with it. Apple doesn't even recommend showering with it on.

It's water resistant. All that means is you can get it a little wet, like washing your hands. You can't shower with it or go swimming with it.

I would imagine a LOT of resentment if owners could only use 'Officially Approved' watch face designs.

Knowing Apple however, I personally would not be surprised if they do not allow this, they wish to keep full control, and you will only be allowed to use official Apple approved watch faces.

Several years ago I, along with others, purchased a strap and attempted to use the Nano as a watch. Unfortunately, due the extreme battery drain the display was limited, as I recall, to about 30 seconds before sleeping. So, my concern with the Watch, was the reference to "raise your wrist to view ...". I hope this does not mean that the display sleeps until you raise your hand.

I realize that the Nano was not originally designed to be a watch, so I'm hoping that the Watch can be continuously displayed. Perhaps I've misunderstood or missed an answer to this question from the keynote or the Apple site and hope that someone else can clarify. -Thanks

During the keynote Cook said he couldn't wait to see where developers take this. In the ABC interview Ive mentioned 'millions' of combinations. You won't get that from the 12 watch faces Apple designed. If they're opening up the watch to apps (and opened iOS to 3rd party keyboards and widgets) why would they restrict watch faces to only Apple designed ones? This isn't Steve Job's Apple anymore.
