I have an Apple wifi Airport extreme card pulled from my now non working 2006 Mac Pro 1.1. I'm considering getting a 2008 3.1 Mac Pro and I've heard that it's supposed to work in most all early Mac Pros including 2008 and 2009. Can anyone confirm this and how is the wiring done to tabs 0, 1 and 2?

Card model#AR5BXB72

The Wi-Fi cards are slot compatible in 2006, 2007, and 2008 Mac Pros. It changed for 2009, which is slot compatible with 2010 and 2012.

If I recall correctly, the Wi-Fi antenna wires are marked with numbers like "1" for example, and the BT antenna is marked "BT". However there was a thread a while back about how common it was to find Mac Pro cases with incorrectly labelled wires.

The AR5BXB72 was not the standard card for your 1.1 - it was BMC94321MC - but anyway, you can use it with 3 wires in your 3.1

wiring:

0>1

1>2

3>3
