Hey guys im kind of stuck between a hard place right now. I have a ipad mini 4 and goes dead at random percentages sometimes it will charge normally and sometimes it will die even conncted to the charger. I have sent it to apple and they even couldn’t reproduce the issue. I don’t know what to do. Im thinking about getting a new mini but not for sure on what to do. Please write me back. I would appreciate it thanks.

Im a hour and half away from a apple store probably wont do me any good
Call them again and ask them to run the general diagnostic on it that is if you can get the iPad on WiFi fir them.

After the test is done, ask them what the battery cycle count is and what number the battery health is at.

unless it’s below 80 for the battery health, most reps will not do a battery replacement for you.

thats if i can keep it running long enough because sometimes it will die even if it is plugged into the charger

I second the suggestion to record any evidence you can. Intermittent stuff is terribly hard to replicate if you’re not sure what exactly to look for - and often times indicative of software rather than hardware problems.

Have you also tried a different charger and a different cable to rule these out?

I would also recommend recording any evidence. It's most certainly your best bet.

Any chance you can get to an Apple store? You may have better luck there.
This. Most send-in warranty services are useless and will mostly send it back to you saying it works perfect - unless it explodes of course.

Apple store is going to be the best + video recording. See if you can find other errands to get done in the area.

Or get in touch with apple online support and escalate it to a senior advisor.

That's a 6-year old device, what do you expect? I've got one whose battery won't last long, and I'm going to replace it. Apple is offering £115 for a trade-in; I'd rather do that, and get the next iPad mini, than pay £99 to have Apple replace the battery.
